At Willow Tree Primary School our music curriculum is taught within our IPC sessions alongside discrete music teaching and enrichment opportunities.
In Key Stage One we use Charanga as our music scheme of work. Charanga is an award-winning, modern-day resource for primary music that covers the National Curriculum. The scheme uses a vast library of songs, resources and listening activities celebrating the world’s greatest music and is used by 50,000 teachers nationwide.
Alongside our music scheme in Key Stage two we employ Knowsley Music Service who teach children in years 3 – 6 to teach musical instruments. In year three the children learn to play Ukulele, year four they learn to play Guitar, year 5 they learn to play Recorder and year 6 they learn how to play Clarinet.
