We are a sponsored academy, and opened as Willow Tree Primary School, part of Vantage Academy Trust, on 1st March 2019.
Willow Tree Primary is a happy and caring school, where everyone is welcomed and valued. We are dedicated to being a wholly inclusive school where all pupils thrive and participate in rich experiences allowing them to achieve and progress to reach their own potential within the primary years and beyond.
Our core purpose is to celebrate children as individuals and to ensure they feel valued through well planned and appropriately challenging experiences, which allow each individual to meet their own potential.
Motivating and challenging all learners in a creative, enjoyable and secure environment is central to achieving this. By understanding what our children already know, we inspire learning through quality teaching, exciting learning opportunities and our passion for bringing a rich and varied curriculum to life. Willow Tree has high aspirations for all it’s learners. We encourage a love of learning, and as a community are committed to every learner’s success.
In addition, we aim to ensure that Willow Tree is part of a wider school family within the community where positive relationships and positive experiences are paramount and staff work in partnership with children, parents, carers and the wider community to ensure the very best outcomes for our pupils.

At the heart of our vision is a shared curriculum and approach to teaching and learning across our schools. The International Primary Curriculum and its eight learning goals are deeply embedded across all of our academies – providing both rigour and internationally recognised standards for all pupils. The goals, which are shared by everyone in our schools, are:
As a trust, we are deeply committed to improving outcomes for all children and supporting schools with a history of underperformance to become both inspirational and safe places in which to learn. We do this by investing in and developing exceptional teachers, leaders and support staff; building strong relationships with parents and our local communities; providing inspirational learning environments; and demonstrating high expectations for every school and every child across the trust.
Here at Willow Tree we encourage children to understand strong values such as forgiveness, trust, faith, compassion and love. We promote these values through the celebrations such as Christmas, Easter, Harvest, assemblies and the curriculum.
Here at Willow Tree we want all our children to grow in their own faith. For our younger children, linking the major festivals gives a structure within which to deepen their knowledge of their own faith story.
Here at Willow Tree we promote lifelong learning through the progression of key skills, such as reading and writing but also through developing life experiences such as going on visits to places in our community.
Here at Willow Tree we promote the very highest academic standards, moving from concrete operations, to the abstract ensuring mental agility based on sound practice. All our children learn their times tables in our Assertive Mentoring Programme and old fashioned life skills for a modern child.
Here at Willow Tree we encourage all our children to get a love of learning that takes them beyond the classroom into the wider world. Children are able to investigate and find answers to the questions they have generated. Developing an inquiring mind is a key skill in the promotion of deep learning as well as leading you down new unexplored paths.
Here at Willow Tree children are encouraged to go on a path of self-discovery. Children learn how to take responsibility for their own learning and personal development, as well as how to treat and respect others.
Here at Willow Tree we work together to overcome any obstacles, however challenging, to achieve our goals. We try and try again, building resilience which helps us deal with any disappointments on our journey to success.
Here at Willow Tree we believe that our differences make us stronger. Learning from each other, our traditions and our shared history.
