Everton in the Community

In April 2013, the Government announced new funding of £150 million for physical education (PE) and sport. This funding is to be used to improve the quality and breadth of PE. Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport provision, including increasing participation in PE and sport so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels they are capable of. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.

We are lucky enough to work collaboratively with Everton In The Community, we have a specialised coach who attends school two days a week and works alongside our staff to give our children the best P.E lessons possible. Our children are taught all the basic essential skills they need to be able to take part in competitive sports and games with a view to incorporating more of this competitive element next academic year.

Our Play Leaders

The aim is for our play leaders to encourage and engage children in active play. As a school we don’t want to see children left out or alone during playtimes. The play leaders will actively be supporting all children to join in, by introducing different games to our children.

Our Everton in the Community coaches are skilled professionals who will teach our play leaders effective strategies in order to achieve this. They will be also work with our PE lead, Miss. Moulsdale and the coaches to create an order for some extra equipment for the yard.
